Connecting your Wii U

If you want to connect your Wii U to Zoom or Zoom Wi-Fi, please review the following steps:

Wired

  • Purchase a Wii LAN Adapter and connect to your Wii U
  • Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or router to the Wii LAN adapter
  • From the Wii U menu select System Settings
  • Select Internet
  • Select Find Recommended Connection Type and select Yes
  • When asked if you use Wi-Fi, answer No
  • When asked if you have a Wii LAN adapter, answer Yes
  • Select Next and OK
  • Test the connection
  • Once the test is finished successfully press OK
  • When asked if you would like to make this your default connection, select Set if you wish this to be your default connection or No if you do not
  • If you have not previously updated your Wii U, you may be asked to perform a system update
  • Select Update to perform the system update, or select Cancel to skip this process.

Wireless

  • From the Wii U menu select System Settings
  • Using the Left Stick on the controller, select the Internet icon and press the A button
  • Select Connect to the Internet
  • The Wii U will search for available wireless networks
  • When complete, use the Right Stick on the controller to select the name of your wireless network
  • If prompted, use the on-screen keyboard to enter your wireless security key then select OK
  • Test the connection
  • Once the test is finished successfully press OK
  • When asked if you would like to make this your default connection, select Set if you wish this to be your default connection or No if you do not
  • If you have not previously updated your Wii U, you may be asked to perform a system update
  • Select Update to perform the system update, or select Cancel to skip this process.
