As a kid growing up in the early 80s, I was a fan of action shows on network television. Acting out our favorite characters, my cousin and I would always fight over who was Bo and who was Luke; who was Howling Mad Murdock and who was B.A. Baracus; and or course who was Ponch and who was Jon. Frank "Ponch" Poncherello was the coolest motorcycle cop around and you could see him weekly on
CHiPs, NBC's late 70s/early 80s action-drama. However, unlike most stars of the day, the actor playing Ponch became just as famous as his character;
Erik Estrada became a household name during the days of CHiPs.
While he will likely be mostly known by this role, Estrada has gone on to act and voice many popular characters in more recent shows like Sealab 2021, Big Time Rush and more. Recently, Armstrong Local Programming's very own Andrew Knode was able to discuss Estrada's most recent project, Finding Faith. The theme of the movie focuses on keeping children safe online.
