Who out there does the whole New Year's Resolution thing? I personally haven't in a long time, simply because it seems that they are never met. Whether your goals change mid year or you just can't reach it, the whole idea seems counterintuitive to set up a rigid 365 day goal. I have my long term goals and my short term goals, none of which start and stop on January 1.
Last year we discussed New Year's goals of becoming
paperless. We also has a few posts in a series of New Year's themed articles about checking out
new technology,
emptying your inbox and even going 'paperless' with
your finances. If I was to hold myself to that as a resolution, I probably didn't meet every aspect of the goal. Is there still a lot of paper in my house that could be scanned, stored electronically or replaced by technology? Yes!
So, I plan to continue my quest to become more 'paperless' than I am. However, that isn't my number one goal. Fitness, eating better and family time all come in much higher on the list. In the meantime, I can make more time for those things by being more organized.
If you are a new reader of this blog, I recommend you check out
Evernote. I reference it a lot and use it for organizing. I also use my own set up for organizing things including using
IFTTT and
Any.Do. Both of these services are very useful in helping me stay organized and productive. If you are new to becoming more reliant on online services, check out some of our past
Online Life articles.
