Every family has their own holiday traditions; from where they spend Christmas Eve or baking holiday desserts. Some of the best traditions stem from decorating the house for the holidays. In our home we usually try to decorate the first weekend of December. We even have fun traditions for teaching our kids about other holidays. Each year on Yule our kids get to make their own hand made ornaments to add to the already decorated tree. Some families wait until closer to Christmas to even get started. If you have yet to deck your halls, check out some tips from Marilyn Forbes and our Armstrong Local Programming show Around Town. During their recent holiday episode they take a trip to a tree farm and learn tips for picking out the perfect Christmas tree. Also, Marilyn visits a local florist to make sure you get the most out of that evergreen as she learns to make handmade wreathes from scrap branches.   Bonus: See how one local Toys for Tots program organizes for the holiday season.
