I can't say that I was a Veronica Mars fan. The show seems interesting, but the story of how this movie made it this far is most interesting. The movie was produced because of Kickstarter. Kickstarter, the crowdsourced funding website, helps regular joes get their projects off the ground by receiving funds in small chunks from backers, in exchange for benefits and first access to the product or service. Plenty of stories and discussions have come from this project, but you can start with this TechCrunch article.
