pirateGenerally, when we talk about Safe Surfing here, we are helping you with ways to protect your computer from viruses, phishing, spam or other harmful technology woes. Today, we are talking about actual physical safety while you surf the internet. Eye strain can affect any of us who spends a large part of their day in front of a screen or digital device. A recent Fast Company article highlights nine ways you can fight eye strain. First of all, they identify the symptoms you can start to recognize. These include watery eyes, dry eyes, blurred or double vision and several more. Some of the tips they share include reducing the glare on your screen, dimming other lighting around you and making your font size larger. Even a few of these adjustments can help reduce the impact that our digital life has put on our eyes. My favorite and most important take away from the article was the "20-20-20 Rule" which encourages you to look at something 20 feet away, for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. What do you do to try to curb eye strain? Check out the full Fast Company article here.
