Beating out Verizon, Yahoo, Amazon and Facebook, Twitter paid less than $10 million dollars for the rights to stream games with the NFL. With the numbers of Twitter plateauing around 300 million active users, this deal is believed to help grow their numbers. With the streaming rights to only 10 of the 16 TNF (Thursday Night Football) games this season, the games will still air on CBS, NBC, and the NFL Network, as well as their affiliate sites.
Beyond just the ability to live stream the game, you will also have access to pre-game broadcasts from the players and teams, as well as highlights from TNF.
