The NBCUniversal network Sprout is rebranding to become Universal Kids. Sprout traditionally focused its programming on preschool aged audiences. However, the rebranded network will provide a mix of programming that will target audiences ranging from 2 to 11 years old.

Universal Kids, scheduled to go live on September 9,2017, will include a mix of animated content, unscripted entertainment, live action scripted originals and international hits. Anticipated shows include: All Hail King Julien and DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk, which is based on the popular "How To Train Your Dragon" movies.

Top Chef Junior is another series that will premiere on Universal Kids in October 2017. In this Junior version of the Bravo hit, 12 young chefs will compete for the Top Chef Junior title.

Sprout will continue to provide 15 hours of daily programming for preschoolers from 3am to 6pm. Programming for older children and families will then begin at 6pm.
