webcamWhether it is an online meeting or talking with loved ones, using a webcam of any type can often prove more difficult than it should. While it has become fairly simple to operate, the results can still be lacking. Dark room, messy backgrounds and more can provide the person viewing the video with the a less than desirable experience. A recent PCMag article describes these poor souls as "webcam zombies."  The article provides tips like 'dressing for success' that encourage you to look your best, especially when it is a professional setting such as a meeting or interview. The same situation goes for your environment. The tips for this involve finding a happy medium between professional and personal. However, the most useful tip that applies to any webcam or FaceTime experience is lighting. The article has some great advice including how many and where to place room lighting to get the best results. Don't forget the angle of the camera, which could potentially undo any lighting and professional surroundings you worked so hard to achieve. Get that angle just right to give a more natural look. No one wants to look up your nose.
