We've talked about
password security in the past, as well as general safe surfing techniques. However, with the recent rash of
online security breaches it is important to stress yet another password tip;
change it frequently.
Anyone who uses a computer for work has probably had to periodically change their passwords. However, for things like social networks, online banking and personal email we don't have an IT professional telling us when we should change our passwords.
You could even take a tip from the fire-safety folks and piggy back on the daylight saving time-change. After you change your clocks and your smoke alarm batteries in the spring and fall, set down and change your online passwords. The more frequently you change your passwords the better, but its a start.
