We have great news about the Healing Heroes program! Due to your generosity, we have surpassed the $250,000 mark in donations and are now raising money for our twelfth dog. The money raised came from community efforts including; contributions from Armstrong customers & employees, and partnerships & fundraisers coordinated by local community groups. When we began this program on Veteran’s day in 2016, our goal was to raise enough money for 5 dogs; it is incredible what we have accomplished together, and it appears to be continuing. 

A fully trained service dog costs about $22,000 and the Healing Heroes program has successfully paired 5 local veterans with service dogs. Our first recipients were Randy & Dennis in Grove City, PA and Leon & Carson in Medina, OH. Most recently we have paired an additional three veterans; Lisa & Yogi in Hamlin, WV, Bryan & Fahrny in Medina, OH, and Samara & Angel in Scottdale, PA. Veteran’s Day 2019 will mark the third anniversary of the program and we are excited to see it thrive.
