The newest Armstrong community service project is well underway and efforts have begun. Healing Heroes, is a partnership program with Guardian Angel Medical Service Dogs to provide a highly-trained service dog to qualifying disabled veterans in our communities struggling with disabilities such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Traumatic Brain Injuries, seizure disorders, and more.

Armstrong Healing Heroes has two goals in 2017:

  • Raise enough funds to donate 5 service dogs to qualifying disabled veterans within our communities serviced by Armstrong. Each service dog costs approximately $22,000, therefore a total of $110,000 for 5 dogs is needed. During Veterans Day week at the launch of this project, Armstrong made a commitment to raise $55,000 and equally match each donation received in support of this worthy cause.
  • Raise awareness of veterans' needs as statistically, 22 veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI commit suicide every day. After a veteran has been paired with a service dog, there has been success and significant improvement in the lives of veterans.

If you are interested in supporting this effort and donate to Healing Heroes, checks can be made payable to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. and mailed to:
