Personal Web Space

Zoom includes free Personal Web Space where your friends and family can access information you choose to share. By simply typing in your personal URL or "address", visitors to your Personal Web Space will be able to keep up-to-date on the information that's important to you. Creating your Personal Web Space is easy. Follow these simple steps and you'll be on your way in no time.

  1. Get the tools
To maintain your Personal Web Space, you'll need an HTML editor and a file transfer program (FTP). While these tools can be purchased, many great alternatives are available for free online. To see what's available, go to your favorite search engine and search for "free HTML editor" or "free FTP client"
  2. Let your creativity run wild
Now that you have the right tools, create some content to share with your friends and family. Residential customers receive 50 megabytes of free data storage. That's enough space for a handful of web pages and a small collection of photos, graphics or other files. When you've finished your masterpiece, remember to save your home page as index.htm or index.html.
  3. Transfer your files
To transfer your files to our web servers, open your FTP program and go to our server address, Your Zoom username and password is the username and password you'll use in your FTP program. Once you're connected to our servers, transfer your files to the web_files directory.
  4. Congratulations!
When you're ready to share your site with the world, simply tell you friends and family to visit where username = your Zoom username.
