How to Get HBO Max

Getting Started

1. Download the HBO Max app*

Download the HBO Max app on one of the many supported devices.

2. Sign In to HBO Max

At the bottom of the screen, click on the small "Sign in to your account" link.

3. Select "Armstrong"

Select sign in through your TV provider, view all providers and select "Armstrong".

4. Log in as Account Owner

Be sure to use your Armstrong account owner username and password to sign in.

*Please note that your experience may vary slightly dependent upon the device you are using to access HBO Max.

Armstrong HBO subscribers can access the new HBO Max app and website, at no additional cost. Plus, you still have access to all of HBO’s live channels and On Demand programming that you currently get with your HBO subscription.

Do I need to register or sign in to use the HBO Max website/app on a computer, mobile device or streaming device?

Yes. You’ll need to use your Armstrong username and password that is designated as the Owner, to sign in and/or create an HBO Max account.
Why can't I find certain HBO Max shows and movies on EXP?

There is certain content exclusive to HBO Max that is not currently available through the HBO app on EXP or EXP On Demand. Armstrong HBO subscribers can access all HBO Max shows and movies on the HBO Max app and website, on any supported device, at no additional cost. Click here.

I’m not the Armstrong account owner but I want to watch HBO Max. How do I do that?

Only the Armstrong user ID designated as the Owner can sign into HBO Max. The Armstrong account owner user in your household will need to create an HBO Max account and password and then share that information with you so you can use it to sign in.
Does watching content on the HBO Max website / app count against my monthly internet data allowance?

Yes. The HBO Max website and app content is streamed over the internet and it will count against your monthly data usage.
