As a kid, New Year's Eve was always a fun time in our family. We were 'allowed' to stay up past midnight. (Whether we made it that late or not was a different story.) We got to eat "snack plates" for a treat; consisting of chips, crackers, cheeses, pepperoni and other assorted junk food. But most importantly, we got to go to the video store and pick out movies to watch.
Fast forward twenty some years. I am pretty sure I can get my kids on board with the staying up late and the eating junk ...
