Your cybersecurity is a top priority at Armstrong. As a Zoom internet customer, we are asking for your help in our latest initiative to strengthen email security and privacy. This will require customers to use port 587 when sending email from your Zoom email account. Your email port is how email moves from one email server to another.

Many customers are already using port 587 for outgoing mail and will not need to take any action at this time. Armstrong customers currently using port 25 to send emails should take action to secure your email prior to Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

The original port, port 25, has been in use since the early days of email and has limited security features. Updating to port 587 provides a more secure email experience.

How to check your email port settings:

1. Open your email app and select settings.
2. Look for outgoing mail settings and verify that your outgoing port number is 587.
3. Save your settings.
4. Verify these settings for every email application and device that you use.

Specific instructions will vary depending on the email client and version that you are using.
